In 2023, working with TRTA Youth Program, OK To Be Different Foundation made 17 Youth Back Country Camps happen. 1727 teens trekked into the wilderness on the Tahoe Rim Trail for a total of 3140 miles. For most, it was their first experience away from home. For all, it was an opportunity to disconnect from technology and plug into nature for four days. As campers explored the depths of the Tahoe backcountry, they met more than the trees and critters that share a home. They discovered the bravery of their leaders, the commonalities of their fellow adventurers, and the strength and individuality within themselves. 7 out of 10 campers attended the program for no cost. During the total of 67 days' of backcountry trekking, 91% of campers increased overall wellbeing including resiliency and social connection. 91% of campers feel more ownership for the health and wellness of Tahoe's ecosystems. Our foundation is proud to be part of the effort to reduce barriers to mental health care and expand the healthy impact of exploring the nature.

Many of us can still feel the lingering impact of chronic stress caused by COVID -19 as we are trying to get back to normal. To help Californians maintain mental well-being, recognize when we need mental health support, and where to receive guidance from diverse resources, Listos California has created a First Aid Kit for Your Mind.
We are a non-profit, private operating charitable foundation based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
We want to instill confidence and competence in emotionally and behaviorally challenged teens so that they can achieve their goals and accomplish their dreams in a community that is free of stigma and full of opportunities.
We have both ongoing and future projects and programs that anybody can join and participate in! Our programs and projects revolve around mental health and learning exploration.
